Anxiety and Mood Concerns
For when everything feels just too much. When the “what ifs” won’t quite down. Feeling heavy, numb, or nothingness — anxiety and/or depression may be quietly shaping your days.
What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is functional; it’s actually very protective. However, in therapy space we worry about generalized anxiety and the excessive and pervasive nature that anxiety can take. Many describe struggling with uncertainty and the “what ifs” can keep you up at night, distract you for participating in life, scare you into feared decision making. These are the signs it might be time to explore how to live with our anxiety, without letting them drive the bus.
Other Anxiety Concerns include:
Social Anxiety
Panic Disorder
Phobias
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (technically it is a separate category; however it’s often missed and then treated as anxiety- which can delay your healing and process. Here we get to the root of anxiety vs OCD)
“Anxiety is the brain’s way of keeping you safe. We just want to learn how to ask anxiety to sit in the passenger seat (or maybe the back seat), not the driver’s seat”
