Grief Processing
A cancer diagnosis is life altering- no matter the timeline or prognosis. The grief process is not only associated with the illness but also the changes and loss that come alongside the diagnosis.
Understanding Cancer in Therapy
The “C” word is one that is too common and yet so isolating. There are so many layers to how grief and emotional uncertainty run wild when you are going through treatment, have a loved one in treatment, are deciding to end treatment or move to hospice, or are living in survivorship.
I used to work within cancer clinics, sitting in infusion rooms and checking in post radiation treatment, I was able to see the inner workings of oncology and radiation oncology units. I will never pretend to know your experience or story; but I can help offset you having to reexplain certain medical details. Because I saw the details, side effects, and symptoms in real time.
My time in clinic highlighted the emotional and human need to process. I have been honored to hold space with adults at the time of their diagnosis to their last moments in hospice. I have seen the value of helping renew the self as folks finish their medical treatment and navigate survivorship. And everything in-between. Whether you are personally living with or have lived with cancer, or are a family member, know that you deserve to have space to be heard and feel hard feelings.
Within a cancer lens, I have a particular interest in helping singles and couples navigate sexual health and fertility. I have completed continuing education through the American Society of Reproductive Medicine on fertility treatments as well as supported patients during preservation counseling discussions.

Exploring Grief
Grief processing is not only associated with cancer. Although I have worked extensively in grief exploration during the phases of treatment and cancer. I also work with exploring various types of grief as well as death and dying concepts outside of a cancer realm.
Many grief events we don’t often know how to talk about in society are called “disenfranchised grief”; these are the ones that are taboo or “too uncomfortable” for people to name.
