FAQs

So maybe I’m interested- now what?

1

First off, pat on the back- you made it this far and that’s a portion of the battle. If you would like to chat first, reach out via the “contact” buttons or tab on the website. We can find a time to have a free 15-minute consultation call to see if it could be a good fit. Then we can schedule our first intake session. During that session (and the next one), I will ask you about your story, your goals, your fears, and we’ll start to build a plan to support your goals.

So what’s up with the insurance situation?

2

Insurance is a delicate dance. We need it and it takes some patience to get it going. I accept Medicaid/Forward Health. I am contracted with Orenda Counseling to offer Quartz insurance so you’ll notice their name on our forms and the contact for billing. I am working on the paperwork and credentialing for Anthem BCBS. I hope to have that finalized end of summer 2026. Dean is closed for now and I hope to be pursue that contract once I get the green light. If you have more questions feel free to ask, I’ll share what I know.

What makes you different?

Good question- hard to say in a blurb box, but I’ll do my best. I truly believe that therapy is hard and yet I embrace the joy and opportunities that come. I hope you find moments to laugh and cry. I hope together, you can learn to tolerate the big feels and not be so afraid to name and face them. I look at myself as the passenger and you’re the driver; I hold a map of sorts and offer directions. But by golly, you can certainly go off roading, go slower, speed up, take a pit stop- all of that. I’ll do my best to always point you in the direction of some roads to explore but you get the autonomy of decision making.

How long does therapy last?

4

Hard to say, sometimes people have very specific goals they would like to work on. Other times, therapy is like peeling an onion. There are layers and it’s a bit hard to tolerate the big feelings and physical reactions that come up when we start to peel. When that’s the case, we take it slow and steady to build your tolerance, capacity, and comfort within the discomfort. That can take a “who knows” amount of time.
